Retro summer dishcloths

Size: 15 cm/6 inch square
Gauge: 22st/10 cm/4 inch
double pointed or cable needles: 4mm

CO 34 stitches in the main colour and knit 4 rows
now slide your knitting to the other end of the needle and start knitting with the contrast colour at the 'wrong' end, your knitting will appear as stockinette for one row. Knit 4 rows in CC.
Slide the knitting over again, the working yarn of the MC and CC will now be on different sides.

Carry the MC yarn up and knit 4 rows.
Slide over.
Carry the CC yarn up on the other side and knit 4 rows.
Continue until you have 7 stripes of each colour.
Then slide over, carry up the MC yarn and knit 5 rows. Bind Off. Sew in ends.

I've used odd balls of cotton, thin cotton held double and thick and thin that actually looks good in garter stripes like this.
Only 4 ends to weave in and neat edges, yay ;-)

Spring dress

Gauge 17 st to 4 inch/10cm on 5mm needles
16 st on 5.5 mm needles
Yarn: cotton/hemp mix approx 650-700 grams
Size M

This dress is knitted top down in the round.

Co 100 stitches with smaller needles, slip on marker and start knitting in the round:
R 1: purl
R2: knit
R3: purl
R4-6: knit
R7: (k2 yo) repeat to end
R8-9: knit
R 10: (k3 yo) repeat until last stitch, M1
R11-12: knit
R 13: k5 yo, (k8 yo) repeat until last 3 stitches, k3
R14-15: knit
R 16: k5 yo, (k8 yo) repeat until last 3 stitches, k3
next 6 rounds: knit even, this finishes the yoke

Now seperate the sleeve stitches:
put 48 stitches on waste yarn, Co 4 st by backwards loop for underarm, knit 64 stitches (front), slip 48 stitches on another piece of waste yarn, Co 4 stitches for the underarm, knit 64 stitches (back).
Move marker to the middle of the underarm stitches and place a second marker to the middle of the other underam stitches.

R2: k1, M1, k to 1 stitch before marker, M1, k1, slip marker, k1 M1, k to 1 stitch before marker, M1, k1
R3: knit
R4:  k1, M1, k to 1 stitch before marker, M1, k1, slip marker, k1 M1, k to 1 stitch before marker, M1, k1
R5-17: knit
R18: k1, k2tog, k to 1 stitch before marker, ssk, k1, slip marker, k1, k2 tog, k to 1 stitch before marker, ssk, k1
R 19-21: knit
R 22: as R18
R 23-25: knit
R 26: as R18
R 27-29: knit
R 30: as R 18

Knit even for 26 Rounds.
Place markers after 21st, 22st, 21st for the front and 21 st, 22st, 21 st for the back, marking a middle front and a middle back panel that will stay the same 22 stitches.

Next round M1 :
-1 stitch after side seam marker
-1 stitch before first middle front marker
-1 stitch after second middle front marker
-1 stitch before and after the side seam marker
-1 stitch before the first middle back marker
-1 stitch after the second middle back marker
- 1 stitch before the side seam
Next 5 rounds: knit even

Repeat increase round + 5 knit even rounds 10 times.
You will now have 41/22/41/41/22/41 stitches between markers.

Next 12 rows knit even.
Switch to 5.5mm needles and knit until 1 inch from desired lenght.

Hem:
R1 : purl
R2: knit
R3: purl
R4: knit
R5: purl
R6: knit
R7: BO purlwise

Slip the sleeve stitches on the needle and pick up 4 stitches at the underarm.
R1: purl
R2: knit
R3: Bo purlwise
